Both our cars are vandalized while we are sleeping. The destruction is enormous, as if sledge hammers had been taken to the cars. One of them is tipped on its side. All kinds of difficulties arise as a result of having no transportation. One of the problems concerns neighbors we have invited for dinner. I have to contact them somehow, and tell them the invitation is off. Also, I am afraid of these people who dislike us so much they would do this to our cars. There are two doors to the house. One is double-bolted, but the other, although very thick and seemingly safe, has one of those black wrought-iron latches. I test it and realize that there is a big enough gap anyone could reach through with a finger and lift the latch. We are not as safe as we thought.
At a later time I wonder how I could have slept through the noise of those cars being destroyed.
(I had this dream on the 16th. On the 27th I was rear-ended by a drunk driver. My car is totaled and I have back injuries from whiplash, even though I was wearing a seatbelt.)
